NAME

hal-is-caller-privileged - determine if a caller is privileged

SYNOPSIS

hal-is-caller-privileged [options]

DESCRIPTION

hal-is-caller-privileged determines if a specific caller is privileged for a given PolicyKit action on given device. For more information about both the big picture, HAL and PolicyKit , refer to the HAL spec (which can be found in /usr/share/doc/packages/hal/spec/hal-spec.html depending on the distribution) and also the PolicyKit documentation.

OPTIONS

The following options are supported:
--udi The UDI (Unique Device Identifier) of the device object.
--action
 PolicyKit action to check for.
--caller
The unique D-Bus name on the system bus of the caller.
--help
 Print out usage.
--version
 Print the version.

RETURN VALUE

If an error occurs this program exits with a non-zero exit code. Otherwise the textual reply will be printed on stdout and this program will exit with exit code 0. Unprivileged callers (e.g. with a non-zero uid) can only ask about callers/processes that matches their own uid.

BUGS

Please send bug reports to either the distribution or the HAL mailing list, see http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/hal on how to subscribe.
